BIOs:
David Tilston
David was born and raised in the Toronto area and moved to the Ottawa area in 1987. He now lives in Lanark County on Bennett Lake where he divides his time between family, work and music. He has been playing guitar for over thirty-five years and has developed a sound that is a blend of many different styles ranging from blues to bluegrass; from folk to swing. You’re as likely to hear him flatpicking traditional fiddle tunes as you are listening to him play the songs of Mississippi John Hurt.
While not primarily a songwriter himself, David has always gravitated toward acoustic folk or roots music of traditional blues artists and singer-songwriters such as the aforementioned Mississippi John Hurt along with Robert Johnson, Townes Van Zandt and others. His early influences were the songs of Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson and Bob Dylan.
Although performing solo occasionally, David most often performs as an accompanist on guitar and vocals. In addition to playing his custom made Oskar Graf guitar, he plays fiddle and mandolin.
David’s favourite guitarists are Tony Rice, David Grier and Django Reinhardt. Others who have made a significant impression are Doc Watson, Clarence White, Mississippi John Hurt and T-Bone Walker. His favourite songwriters are Townes Van Zandt, Lyle Lovett, Gillian Welch and Tom Waits.
Bill Cameron:
Carrying On The Tradition of Celtic and Canadian Folk Music
http://www.talentmatch.com/BillCameron
Bill Cameron has two decades of performing experience as a folk musician.
He has played many instruments and styles, but nowadays plays mainly
traditional Celtic and North American music, with an emphasis on the
Scottish and Maritime sources which reflect his family's roots. He also
plays original songs and tunes, contemporary Canadian folk music, and a bit of swing.
Bill, who grew up in Gloucester, Ontario and now lives in the hills of the Ottawa
Valley, is comfortable with the label of "folksinger", (despite current marketing wisdom) because that is what he is. He sings authentically of seafaring, trains, love lost, log drives and battles fought, with a mellow, heartfelt vocal style, and an expert touch on guitar and other stringed instruments.
Bill's first major musical influences were his parents' collection of Maritime folk music records, and his formative years in the Ottawa acoustic music scene of the late 70's and early 80's. Some musicians who have made a lasting impression on him are Doc Watson, Dick Gaughan, Stan and Garnet Rogers, Archie Fisher, Ewan MacColl and Natalie MacMaster.
He is a consummate flatpicking guitarist and an innovative fingerpicker, using
DADGAD and other alternative tunings to create a personal signature style
which often involves playing a melody on the guitar while singing it,
rather than just chording. Bill's guitar style has also been affected by
playing mandolin and fiddle; he creates innovative guitar arrangements of
tunes usually played on these or harp, accordion or pipes. Reels,
strathspeys, jigs and even the dreaded polka are not safe from his
ministrations, and he composes original instrumentals too, such as "The Long Walk Home",
which has been played extensively on web radio stations on mp3.com.
Bill Cameron has performed as a solo artist, in the duo "The Seldom Heard"
with fiddler James Stephens, and in many other aggregations.
Currently he is working primarily as a solo performer or accompanist, and is
available for concerts, cafes, pubs, "classy dinner music", and special occasions.
His first CD release "There's Always Time For Anachronism",
made with James Stephens, Nathan Curry and other worthies, can be ordered directly from the artist.

Fred Pickles, Ninja
Bass
Do'in the bar scene demands some kind of percussion. When forming the band, it was important to me to keep the acoustic feel and not jeapardize the softer sound. Fred's awesome bass tempo was just the right fit.
Someone listening to our demo said to me "You know, I listened to your demo seeing if I missed the drums and you know what? I didn't". That's alright with me.
Fred is an Artist, Jiu-Jitsu Master and all around terrific human being.
Sharon Hinbest
Flute Improv Artist
Sharon crafts her unique sounds by improvising on her flute with other musicians on stage in the studio, at open stages , house jams and most enthusiastically in the good old outdoors (weather permitting) at festivals and porch/farm/bonfire/backyard/ house parties. Currently she performs regularly in a trio with Linda Grenier & Bill Cameron both of McDonald's Corners; Cheryl Neill from Montreal and Kate E. White & Barb of Kingston, Sharon plays an eclectic range of styles including: FOLK - she believes that building community and creating culture WILL save the world.Jazz (girl from Impanema is a current favourite standard)
Blues & Rock (learning Ian Anderson's flute solo's),
Celtic (she's a redhead of Scottish/Irish decent), ....
Whatever, including Bluegrass
(remember flutist Matt Eakle who plays with David Grisman)
Sharon is brushing up her skills on instruments learned in childhood; the violin and piano/keyboard and she also has been known to add voice harmony lines. Since aged 7, music has been the channel for her soul. Sharon had a successful early career as an orchestra and solo performer all when she was really too young to be working! On a scholarship with the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto she received performance lessons with Marjory Yates. former principal flutist with the Toronto Symphony, and also took University level courses in the History of Music and Counterpoint and Harmony. All this formal training was invaluable and she is going through the archives of her mind to bring forward these teachings to her current style. Her greatest musical mentors are her brother Glen Montgomery a classical pianist and her accompanist for all those Music Competitions...Paul Brodie, Jean-Guy Brault, and Keith Gerrard her first 3 flute teachers. Keith Gerrard recognized Sharon's need to go out on a limb and - playing her 1st cadence (like a riff for classical musicians) he asked her; "Would you like to be playing some other types of music...you really seem to respond to improvising"? It took Sharon years to shed the tough layer of skin she grew in response to the authoritative rantings of her father "no daughter of mine...pop music is crap...it's all just noise".
Today Sharon does her own thing...she carries her strong sounds down the Ottawa Valley, into the Lanark Highlands and along the St. Lawrence making trips to Toronto and Montreal to get her big city fix. When she plays Listeners say; "Oh I love a flute...you express such emotion". Musicians describe Sharon as a generous collaborator, sharing the stage well, enhancing their songs by adding just the right sounds to bring the music to another level.
